Psych/Soc (PsS) on the MCAT is just CARS 2.0
The MCAT is 70% critical thinking and 30% foundational knowledge. PsS is sometimes known as a glorified vocabulary exam, but that would be discounting the challenge of the rigorously selected passages on the final section. Our CARS strategy will be in full effect here.
The passage was covered by Altius in Group Session #9.
We want to be visualizing each word and creating a mental picture of the experiment when you stop after each word. Remember, you want to pretend there’s a period at the end of each word.
Here is another passage. I like to summarize science in words I can understand.
This question was mildly infuriating because resistance depends on electrical resistivity (rho, 𝞀), length, and area (π ×𝚛×𝚛).
So, PsS is CARS 2.0, but the important added consideration you’ll need to make is that you want to look out for hypotheses about how the Independent Variable (IV) is associated with the Dependent Variable (DV)
the mnemonic DRY MIX is helping me assign the axes labels to the IV → DV “equation” I am trying to solve. Here, the x-axis means Social Trust → OT!
